Framing

Unless you make nothing but bookmarks (not that there's anything wrong with that), you will probably want to frame your work at some point. Getting it done professionally is needlessly expensive when you can do it yourself.

  2. I've only ever framed one cross stitch, but I think I did all of this. Of course, it was because I had gotten schmutz on my fabric and was desperately trying to get it off, but I'm pretty sure oil can't sense intentions...

    Either way, I doubt I would pay to have my cross stitch framed. I sanded and painted a frame myself to match my floss and I think it matched much better than any professional mats could. It was super cheap (about $7) and the only difficult part was cutting out the backing.
